Blue Microphone Mo-Fi Twit IQ Review: Worthwhile Wireless Headphones With a Few Quirks

Blue Microphone Mo-Fi Twit IQ Review: Worthwhile Wireless Headphones With a Few Quirks

The microphone specialist Blue Microphones is entering the market of hi-fi headphones. The over-ear headphone has an integrated amplifier, which should raise the sound of the gadget to new heights no matter which device serves as a source for the audio material. Blue was kind enough to provide with great excellence so that it initiated me to present you the Gadget review of this wonderful Blue Microphone Mo-fi.

Blue Microphone Mo-fi Massive, Robust and Heavy

When the delivery man gave me the package with the Mo-Fi, I was surprised by the size of the carton. Inside is not only the comfortably stowed Mo-Fi, but also packed with numerous accessories, which quickly prove to be very useful. In addition to a 1.2-meter long 3.5mm MFI cable with remote control, a regular 3.5mm cable is also found in the box, which measures 3 meters in length. As already mentioned, the integrated amplifier is one of the highlights, which is powered by a 1020 mAh battery with juice. The battery is charged via a micro USB cable, which is also included with a USB power plug. Also an adapter from 3.5mm to 6.3mm, as well as a very useful aircraft adapter can be found in the carton. There is a matching bag for the transport of the Mo-Fi.

Blue Microphone Mo-Fi _3

Taking the Mo-Fi and the accessories into your hand, it becomes clear that Blue Microphone places great emphasis on the processing of the product. Especially the headphone with its 466 grams makes a robust impression immediately and shows no trace of inadequate work in the production. Very beautiful indeed!

The Mo-Fi can be put into operation together with the amplifier, the Blue Microphone headphones must be charged once. After approximately three to four hours, the built-in battery is fully charged and you can use the headphones with active amplifiers up to 12 hours. But before you start, make sure the Mo-Fi is sitting comfortably on your head. To ensure this, Blue has developed a number of design features and you can know everything about it through this Gadget review. This will not only change the distance between the auricles and the temple, but also the pressure that the auricles will have on your head. For this purpose, a wheel is arranged in the center of the bracket which regulates said pressure by way of a spring construction inside the bracket. You have the choice between a rather loose seat and maximum sound insulation.

Also the cushions at the temple and the auricles are at first very comfortable. Unfortunately, the Blue Microphone Mo-fi is only really comfortable for sessions of a maximum of one hour, because at the beginning you get an unpleasant feeling of pressure on your head. This is probably due to the extremely high weight of the headphone and its massive design, which is not easy to carry compared to other models. Even with the easiest pressure setting for the auricles it became uncomfortable for me in the long run.

Another problem with the Blue Microphone Mo-Fi occurs during transportation. The headphone is definitely intended for the home use and accordingly you cannot fold. So you need a big bag to transport the headphones and should not disturb you with eye-catching glances that you will undoubtedly draw to you in the train and bus with these voluminous listeners.

Blue Microphone Mo-Fi _2

Blue Microphone Mo-Fi, A real sturdy Breed

The Blue Microphone Mo-Fi is particularly bright thanks to its first-class sound with activated amplifier. This is connected via a small switch to the plug socket and amplifies the input signal, without producing conspicuous noise. With an active amp on “On”, the Blue Microphone Mo-Fi has a very large stage and a natural, almost analytical sound. Especially with quiescent pieces the instrument is very good and abstracted. The amp provides an increased dynamic range and a significantly increased volume level, so that you can listen correctly, rightly, loudly. Due to the good sound insulation of the leather upholstery, however, a low volume with activated amp is usually sufficient for a great musical enjoyment. If you turn the amplifier on “On +”, you get a proper boost of the depth, which may be desired depending on the musical itinerary, but somewhat the natural sound image is wasted.

An advantage of the Blue Microphone Mo-Fi headphone: If the battery is once empty, the Blue Microphone Mo-Fi can still play music – like a normal headphone. The “Off” mode is especially recommended for users of external amplifier solutions. Suddenly, the included MFI cable is very susceptible to touch and creates annoying noise – sometimes the sound on one ear is even completely out! I tested the whole thing on my MacBook Pro, that worked without problems with the Mo-Fi (with active amplifier) and my beloved B & W P5. Also otherwise, the sound without Amp compared to my P5 rather dull and shows only few details. You should always pay attention to the status LED of the headphone or use an external amplifier. This helps the amplifier switch off automatically when the headphone is not in use or is sitting on a head. The status LED on the left auricle is then off.

Blue Microphone Mo-Fi _4

CONCLUSION

Technically, the Blue Microphone Mo-Fi of course is bit more powerful, however, blasts every frame of portable headphones. This first impression is relatively fortunate when you try it on for the first time. Blue is the headphones with all sorts of amenities. Both ear cushions are extremely softly padded. The same is true for the stirrup which rests comfortably on the head. In addition, the width can be adjusted via a wheel, whereby the headphones can be adapted to virtually for everyone.

The Blue Microphone Mo-Fi is more than neat for a debut headphone in the hi-fi class and convinces with a precise, natural sound with an active amplifier. Even as a layman and without an external amplifier can be from the Mo-Fi so small sound wonder. Less convenient is the wearing comfort and the transportability. The Blue Microphone Mo-Fi is simply too heavy and massive. Since the very good workmanship and the robust design consoles even over conditionally over it. I hope this Blue Microphone Mo-Fi Gadget review will provide with the valuable information about this Mo-fi and I hope most of you are thinking about buying a Blue Microphone Mo-Fi, or you should try to listen to it for a few hours with an active amplifier in order to get a clear picture.

The Powerful Secret Hiding Inside Samsung New Galaxy S8

The Powerful Secret Hiding Inside Samsung New Galaxy S8

There is a great secret hidden into the Samsung latest Galaxy S8 smartphone

Just a few weeks ago Samsung has unveiled its upcoming range of Galaxy S8 smartphone with great pomp and media success.  The new design language coupled with high end specification and impressive screen to body ratio is winning the hearts of both the Samsung fans and the tech gadgets enthusiasts.

With the launch of Samsung Galaxy S8, this Korean company is eagerly wishing to overcome the loss of faith in its brand with the failure of batteries in the Note 7. iFixit has taken upon the task of checking the internal components of the both Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy 8 Plus to discover whether Samsung has learnt from its earlier mistake.

The surprise for the users

iFixit discovered Samsung has used near identical internal component design for the Galaxy Note 7. The power system present in the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is almost like the Note 7 in every way.

The iFixit experts stated the battery voltage, capacity, design tolerances were completely like the Note 7 and quite incidentally the battery preset in the S8 Plus comes from the same manufacture that was responsible for the Note 7 batteries.

This has left everyone confused and baffled as why Samsung would go with same design language and battery manufacturer after facing huge backlash on global scale with the failure of its Note 7 last year.

The journey and launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus has gone through some difficult times as it was postponed once when everyone was expecting to be revealed at Mobile World Congress 2017.

The reason behind holding the launch of gadgets at MWC is given to the fact that Samsung was waiting for the final report on the Note 7 battery issues. It is interesting to note that Samsung has given same capacity of battery on Galaxy S8 Plus as it was found in the Note 7. On other hand the Galaxy S8 battery is quite smaller at just 3000 mAh but it happens way ahead of the batteries present on current models of iPhone.

Gadgets lover, Fear not

Samsung has taken huge steps in ensuring that the battery problems seen in the Note 7 is completely resolved. To that effect it has also conducted a thorough investigation into the Note 7 battery issue and later on it brought a report which clarified the exact reason which led to the exploding of the batteries in Note 7.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Plus has the exact battery compartment as well as battery comes from the same manufacturer as it was for the Note 7 but Samsung has tweaked the internal things a little.

Samsung has brought the modular design language for the internal components. This time Samsung gadgets in form of the smartphone are featuring an extensive use of the glue in the S8 and S8 Plus. This is a great thing for the users but it will become a tricky for the third party smartphone repairing firms like iFixit to deal with.

Google Pixel Tips and Tricks: Twit IQ Tips

Google Pixel Tips and Tricks: Twit IQ Tips

Pixel/Pixel XL – Amazing Features

The powerful devices Pixel and Pixel XL from Google tend to bring in amazing features with them and some come from Android Nougat.  The following tips and tricks will provide great insights on Pixel smartphones –

Install and manage widgets

By adding a widget you could customize the home screen ofyour Pixel or Pixel XL.  You could touch a vacant spot on the home screen holding your finger there and then tap `Widget’.  On touching and holding a Widget drag and drop it to any of your home screens to where you would prefer placing it and then let go. If the size of the widget is to be changed, you could touch and hold it and then let it go.  If it needs to be re-sized, you will see dots on the sides which can be dragged to the size needed.  When done with, tap in a different place

Turn the display off and save battery

If one tends to be using the notification LED, you could turn off the ambient display together with the gesture to wake up the display.  The sloth display is said to turn on the display at the  time of notification and utilises power which can be switched off by going to Settings under Display. There are three types of gestures that can be utilised rather than having the display accidentally turned on which can be found under `Moves’ which are called `Jump to Camera, Double tap to check phone and Lift to check phone.

Screenshot to be taken

In order to take a screenshot with the Google Pixel or Pixel XL, you could hold down the power button together with the volume down button simultaneously.  An animation will appear if it tends to work and your screenshots will be found in Photos > Albums > Screenshots all in the Photos in the device section.

Notification LED to be activated

The notification light is not active by default on the Pixel as in the case of Nexus 6P.  In order to turn the light on you could go to Settings > Notifications > Gear icon > Pulse notification light and then slide it to the `On’ position

Enhance readability or see more content

This is said to be an Android Nougat feature instead of a Pixel specific type, however it is worth mentioning: changing font and display size to one choice.  Smaller sizes tend to portray more content on the screen and larger one seems to be friendly for weary eyes.  If one prefers changing the font size of the phone you could go to Settings > Display > Font size and slide till the preview information is of the desired size.  For changing the display size, go to Settings > Display > Display size and slide till you get the suitable size

Reset Pixel Phone

For resetting your device to its factory state, you could go to Settings > Backup & reset then tap Factory data reset.  Here the user will be urged to endorse the code of the display lock once again before going ahead. This procedure tends to reset your Pixel to factory settings instantly and the first time it is started again you will have to specify the last Google account you had used.  This is said to be the theft protection feature and if one cannot enter the Google account, the device would not be operational.

Start Pixel in safe mode

You can restart the Pixel in safe mode like the old Nexus.  This mode tends to support in troubleshooting should there be some fault with the Pixel. In safe mode, one can only start the apps which are installed from the factory.

A possibly defective app that one had installed later would not start but if the Pixel tends to continue having problems, it is not likely owing to any of the new apps. In order to begin safe mode, the user could hold down the power button, tap and hold the Restart option which will be followed by a prompt asking if you want to `Reboot to safe mode’ and one should opt for `OK’.

When the safe mode is turned on, the apps that have not been started tend to show up grey on the home screen.  These are listed in the Play Store in the apps list and in the app settings, they can be uninstalled. If the apps tend to create an issue to the phone and is not functioning in its normal mode, you could boot it in safe mode and eliminate the same.

Easter Egg at start-up

The Google Pixel and Pixel XL is said to have an Easter egg.  To get the same one could go to Settings > About phone, and tap the Android version repetitively and tap the N in different areas till a cat head icon is displayed below the N.  Go to the home screen and then swipe down twice in order to get your quick settings and then tap the pencil icon to edit it.  The new cat icon needs to be dragged into the quick setting bar.  Then tap the empty dish and opt for a food to entice the cats.  Wait a while for a cat to show up then name it and share with friends. Any help needed with Pixel phone is available at Google Support’s Pixel page.
