Samsung’s Gear Icon X Earbuds

Just a fancy name or has the Samsung Gear Icon X have the goods? To be released in 2018 will these ear buds actually live up to the hype. They may be a reliable set of headphones and apart for some minor problems they may prove to be a good buy.

There are a lot of wireless ear buds out there so the competition is tough can these Samsung gear icon X ear buds level the playing field. On using them you may find that the bass is a little weak and the songs sound a little shallow to the ears but all in all hearing your songs is decent on the Samsung gear icon X ear buds.

Battery life on Gear Icon X:

The earbuds come with a 4 hour battery life which gets diminished if you use it on workouts as the voice assistant doesn’t quit motivating you especially on those grueling runs you have going on. You may even find that one of your earbud’s battery life diminishes faster because of the voice assistant.

Samsung Gear Icon X

The Samsung Gear does not have a shut off button, so even when you are not using it the battery gets drained. These ear buds come with a sort of box that works as a storage container cum charging outlet. The box provides charging for up to two full charges before you need to connect it to a power outlet. The earbuds switch off only when in the box.

Sensor in the Samsung Gear Icon X ear buds:

Smart or not so smart that is the question. The ear buds come with a smart sensor that detects when it is in one’s ear but apparently does not switch off when out of the ear. It keeps getting notifications even when outside the ear cavity. This slight problem further diminishes battery life.

Design of the Gear Icon X ear buds:

The ear buds come in subtle coloring other than the neon pink ones and it has a plastic outer coating. The Samsung Gear Icon X ear buds come with spare silicon ear buds and additional wingtips.

Samsung Gear Icon X Volume control:

The volume control on the Samsung Gear Icon X is a bit shifty if you ask me. It takes multiple swipes or taps to adjust the volume or change songs.

Another cool feature of the Samsung  ear buds are the tap and hold feature that allows you to choose between voice control, starting a workout and ambient sound.

Ambient sound in the Icon X:

Since these ear buds have such a snug fit, they can sometimes block out external sounds. So they have an option where you can turn up the volume on these ambient sounds so that you can hear that horn blaring at you when crossing the road listening to favorite song.

Samsung’s Gear Icon X price:

These Samsung ear buds will be available at 200$ next year which is 40$ more than the Apple  Air Pod ear buds.
